Confirm the legal identity
Ask for the contracting entity's legal name, registration details and address. Compare these with the website, quotation and proposed payment beneficiary. Explain any mismatch before proceeding; a familiar brand name may differ from the actual seller.
Understand operating capability
Ask whether the company manufactures, trades or subcontracts the goods. Request relevant evidence of capacity, production processes and quality controls. Photos and sales material alone do not establish that the supplier can meet your order.
Make specifications testable
Define composition, dimensions, tolerances, performance and packaging. Agree the sampling, inspection and acceptance process. Record who bears the cost and what happens if the shipment differs from the approved sample.
Ask for relevant evidence
Request references that can be independently checked, current product documents and any assessment reports relevant to your transaction. Confirm dates, scope and the entity named. An unrelated certificate does not answer a product-specific question.
Review contract and payment questions
Clarify delivery responsibilities, payment beneficiary, milestones, dispute terms and remedies for delay or non-conformity. Consider whether proposed payment exposure matches the evidence available. Obtain professional support for legal or financial decisions where needed.
Keep unanswered risks visible
Create a list of questions, evidence received and gaps. Do not turn a missing answer into a favourable assumption. A research review can help organise the evidence, but it cannot guarantee performance or a safe transaction.
